Life Insurance industry has one of the largest field force. Most insurance companies are grappling with productivity with their Feet-on-Street (FoS) for a while now, coupled with extremely high infant attrition. The COVID scenario is likely to make this challenge more acute. Major metros have become hotspots and there will be restrictions on moving out and meeting people. Going to the office will be a challenge, with restrictions on number of employees permitted. In such a scenario, when there is so much fear, face to face selling may be difficult, at least for a few months. Both, customers and FoS will be extremely reluctant to meet face to face in offices or at home, where most customers will be working from. FoS may also be constrained to work from their homes.
